RoamVisa (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website https://roamvisa.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what limited information is collected when you visit the Site, how it is used, and the choices you have.

RoamVisa is a travel information and blog website. We do not offer visa application services, do not process visas on your behalf, and do not ask visitors to submit passports, identity documents, payment information, or any personal application data.

1. Information we do NOT collect

We want to be explicit about this: RoamVisa does not ask for, request, or store any of the following:

  • Passport numbers, national ID numbers, or government-issued identification
  • Photographs or biometric data for visa applications
  • Financial information, bank details, or payment card data
  • Travel dates, itineraries, or booking information tied to your identity
  • Employment, salary, or income information
  • Any personal information required to submit a visa application

If you ever encounter a page on our Site that appears to ask for this information, please contact us immediately – it is not part of our service.

2. Information we do collect

We only collect the minimum information needed to operate the Site.

a. Information you voluntarily provide

  • Email address – only if you subscribe to our newsletter or send us an email. Used solely to reply to you or send the newsletter you signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
  • Comment details – if you leave a comment on a blog post, WordPress stores the name, email address, and (optional) website you provide, along with your comment text.
  • Contact messages – if you email us at roamvisa@gmail.com, we retain that email so we can respond.

b. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting server and analytics tools automatically log basic technical data when you visit:

  • IP address (anonymized where possible)
  • Browser type and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages viewed and time spent
  • Referring URL
  • Approximate country / city (from IP)

This information is used in aggregate to understand how the Site is used, diagnose technical issues, and improve content. It is not linked to your identity.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • Essential functions – remembering your cookie consent choice and keeping the Site working.
  • Analytics – Google Analytics (or a similar tool) helps us understand aggregate visitor behavior.

4. Third-party services

We use trusted third-party services to run the Site. Each has its own privacy policy:

  • Google Analytics – website analytics. Google Privacy Policy
  • Google AdSense (if enabled) – displays ads. How Google uses data
  • MilesWeb – website hosting.
  • WordPress / Jetpack / Gravatar – content platform and comment avatars.
  • Newsletter provider (e.g., Mailchimp / MailerLite) – if you subscribe to the newsletter.
  • Affiliate networks – see our Affiliate Disclosure. When you click an affiliate link, the destination site may set its own cookies. We do not receive any personal information from those clicks – only aggregate commission reports.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone.

5. Google AdSense and third-party advertising

If Google AdSense (or another advertising partner) is active on the Site:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google’s use of the DoubleClick cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our Site and other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info.

6. Data retention

  • Newsletter emails are retained until you unsubscribe.
  • Blog comments remain on the post unless you request removal.
  • Contact emails are retained for up to 24 months for reference.
  • Server logs are typically rotated within 30 to 90 days.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA, India DPDP Act, etc.), you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct or update that information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Withdraw consent (for example, unsubscribe from the newsletter)
  • Object to certain processing
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

8. Children’s privacy

Our Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we hold, including HTTPS/TLS encryption, secure hosting, and access controls on our admin dashboard. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

10. International visitors

RoamVisa is operated from India. If you access the Site from outside India, please be aware that the limited information described above may be processed on servers located in India, the United States, or elsewhere.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site or in the newsletter.
